Saffron and Genevieve

Hi Friends,

We’ve come a long way from 2005. When I first opened the shop I was amped but a bit shaky on my feet. I had the background and experience but had yet to find my own voice.

At first I tried hard to provide killer deals on everything. It took me a while to realize I needed to raise prices, I know I lost some customers, but I would have lost them anyway if I couldn’t stay in business.

I tried to find a fitting old blog post for you here, but they don’t sound like me anymore. At the time I thought I was a “blogger”, and was trying to keep up with all the thousands of other antique dealer bloggers. It took a while to realize I had real work to do and wasn’t really enjoying jumping from blog to blog, reading what everyone else was up to. I just wanted to do what I wanted to do, the way I wanted to do it. That’s the whole point of working for myself.

I had so many rules. I felt I had to move the entire shop around every month to give you a new experience. As much fun as I had (really) staying until 11 or midnight several nights in a row to do this, I finally realized that you never really noticed. You always told me the shop looked good and fresh no matter what. After many years I am so happy I settled on some permanent fixtures for my staple lines so I don’t have to scramble to make a new display for my candles, etc.

I used to stress over giving you a great party, trunk show, craft nights, and special events. I know you absolutely enjoy those things, but what really counts is our one on one experience when you come in to find the perfect thing. That is the goal that has never wavered. It is my mission statement and is on the about page on my website:

“Her store serves two missions. It offers a positive, comfortable and inspiring retail environment for customers, with top-notch goods not found elsewhere; Saffron and Genevieve also provides a physical space in which design clients can visualize their own projects, touch and feel merchandise, and work with Scarlett to help pinpoint a style and create their home.”

I’d love to see you on
Wednesday, October 7th from 6-9pm
to celebrate 10 years of Saffron and Genevieve.
I am so grateful for your support all these years, we will be ready for you with loads of treats, punch and -
EVERYTHING IN THE SHOP WILL BE ON SALE! Woot Woot!
See you soon!
Scarlett
